1987 Starion Turbo ESi-R

Are you ready for a rebuild? Care to follow along for a little adventure in the world of automotive makeovers? Should be fun, here we go...

If you can’t get enough of the 83-89 Mitsubishi Starion/Chrysler Conquest twins, then you’ve come to the right place. I bought this car (my third Starion) in July of 2008, from the original owner, a pilot in Maryland, with 76,000 original miles and in need of some serious TLC. When I picked her up the turbo was not spooling, there was a coolant leak just above the oil cooler and she seemed to have some sort of vacuum leak or exhaust manifold was warped. Took her home on a trailer from MD, back to NJ, and she has sat quiet while I have been getting my inventory of parts in house to rebuild her...we start the project - now.

My goal is to bring her back to stock, with minor upgrades for drivability, reliability and some performance goals. Mods like new leather, new sunroof (non-factory when I got her) and 88 front spoiler and steering wheel, are in the mix for good measure. So far I’ve had more than my fair share of support and questions answered on the assorted internet forums and owner clubs...everyone associated with these cars are top notch people, thank you.

Site will be updated as time allows, so sit back, relax and watch the fun unfold.
